            <abstract>
<p>Poster art is an influential medium of visual communication that has consistently
strengthened the dissemination of information and public engagement across social,
cultural, educational, political, and commercial domains. Over time, the techniques of
poster production have undergone significant transformation. In the early period,
posters were entirely handmade (manual), with artistic creativity, craftsmanship, and
traditional techniques playing a central role. With the advancement of science and
information technology, digital design software, high-quality printing technologies,
and internet-based communication systems have brought remarkable changes to the
form, production process, and presentation of poster art. These developments have
not only made poster production faster, more accurate, and cost-effective but have
also introduced new dimensions to visual communication. The present research paper
aims to conduct a comparative study of manual and digital poster art in Chandigarh.
The study examines the historical development, materials, techniques, aesthetic
characteristics, visual composition, production processes, cultural significance, and
contemporary applications of both forms of poster art. Furthermore, the research
demonstrates that despite the growing influence of modern digital technologies,
handmade poster art continues to remain relevant due to its originality, cultural
identity, and artistic value. The findings suggest that the future of poster art will be
based on the integration of traditional artistic practices and modern digital technologies,
where hybrid approaches will establish new standards for visual communication.</p>
